| Eco-Zag: Furniture for our kids and grandkids… |
We at Zagaroli are committed to the sustainability of our resources, and each member of our team works diligently to create as little waste from the manufacturing process as possible. From recycling all cardboard, to donating pallets to local businesses, sawdust to local gardeners, and even reinventing uses for discontinued cushions and leathers, the Zagaroli furniture family finds many creative ways to reduce the impact of our processes on the environment. Our hardwoods come from certified forests right here in the US that follow strict guidelines for sustainability and conservation. No genetically modified trees are used, no civil liberties are violated, no natural resources are depleted. Our suppliers are diligent in monitoring the sustainability of the forests they harvest from because let’s face it… if they use up everything they have now, how will they make a living in the future? Our cushion resources work non-stop to find new methods of creating high-quality cushions with as little ecological impact as possible. Over the past couple of years, our supplier of seating has reformulated all of our cushions to more sustainable materials, mostly soy, corn and cotton. By doing this, we have significantly reduced the dependence on petroleum based products…better for the environment and the wallet! And we are converting all of our blown-fiber backs to 100% post-consumer recycled materials, further reducing the environmental impact of Zagaroli furniture. And all of the materials we are using still offer incredibly comfortable seating, so it’s a win-win! We are fortunate enough to work with several other vendors who are making environmental responsibility a top priority. All of our cotton batting is not only recyclable, but is made from 100% recycled cotton. The material we use for our deck pads and our fiber wrap are also made from recycled materials (and are recyclable). We are thrilled to roll out our new ZagFab and are really excited that most of the fabrics we are introducing to the line are either made from USA grown cotton (some of it organic!) or other sustainable resources like hemp or linen. New leathers introduced this market include selections from historically eco-friendly Green Hides, LLC as well as new veg-tanned options from tried and true vendors. And all of our leather and fabric vendors are constantly telling us that new greener techniques are being used to tan and finish products both here in the US and overseas, so the news about eco-friendly covers will continue to get better and better. So, for the future Zagaroli’s, and the future children of all of our many clients through the years, rest assured knowing that the Zagaroli Furniture family is striving daily to make as little impact on our environment as possible, while still staying true to our core values of excellent construction, remarkable style and incredible comfort. |
